Apple Cider Syrup

Starting this weekend and every day next week, you'll find a new, creepy/fun recipe that will delight your family--young and old alike.  In the meantime, here's a yummy autumn-y recipe to dress up your hearty fall breakfasts.  This apple cider syrup was simple to make, had a pleasant apple flavor,  and was perfect over French toast, pancakes, and waffles.   Enjoy!

The ingredients:

2 cups apple juice or cider
2 Tbs. lemon juice
2 Tbs. cornstarch
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. ground cloves

Directions: 
Combine all the ingredients, and cook over medium heat just until thickened and clear. 


Makes about 2-1/2 cups.  Refrigerate leftovers for up to 1 week.  Serve warm or cold.
 Enjoy!
